Admissions
Visit Us
The best way to see if the Montessori Nursery or School is for your family is to visit us and see us in action! To do this, you can contact Trish, the Nursery Director, using our book a visit page, by phone 0131 346 8921 or e-mail, to arrange a personalised tour to experience a typical morning with us or attend one of our open visits. Your child is of course very welcome to attend.
Intake Periods
Our main intake is August; however, we also accept children starting with us at the start of the Spring term in January and the Summer term in April. In some instances, we may be able to accommodate a child starting with us after a half term in October.
How To Register Your Child
At your visit, (or afterward) you can complete a registration form. Once this has been returned to us together with a non-refundable fee of £50 to cover our administration costs, we will place you in our waiting pool. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
In the term before your child’s preferred start date, we will contact you again with either an offer-of-place (which will include your preferred sessions wherever possible) or an indication that your child remains in the waiting pool.
In order to secure the place offered to your child, it will be necessary to return a completed Parent Contract together with a deposit of £600-£800 which will be refunded to you when your child moves on from the nursery or school. Please note that once this Acceptance is received, a full term’s written notice is required of the intention to leave/not take up the place, otherwise a full term’s fees will be due.
If you choose not to accept an offered place, you may postpone your child’s start date and re-enter the waiting pool to be approached again.
Settling In
Nursery - We require to meet your child before they can start with us. We will invite your child for a pre-settling in visit at the end of the term before they start with us. Following on from this, on their first morning with us, we will support you and your child by providing as smooth a transition as possible, liaising with you throughout the process as each child is different. We gradually increase the length of time your child is with us and apart from you. We find our method very successful in providing a stress-free and tear-free settling in where the child feels eager and empowered to attend nursery.
School - Children are invited to attend a visit and a number of trial days with us to make sure of a good fit for them.
Dietary requirements/ allergies
We are a nut-free nursery and school. We liaise directly with parents to ensure that all special dietary requirements are met and that all allergies are catered for.
